Youth Activists Leadership Council(YALC) want this petition because our society has been suffering a lot due to very little attention on SRHR(Sexual Reproductive health and Right) education. The curriculum should be designed in a comprehensive and age appropriate way so that the children learn about the emotional, physical and psychological changes during puberty.

Maya(name changed), unfortunate 10 year old girl, had come to Kathmandu in search for better education in 2010. To study and to live she had to work in a house as a servant. She slept in the kitchen floor and every night she felt that somebody, covered with black cloth, opened her clothes; touched and poked in her private parts. She found it very painful but could not utter a single word thinking that it was a ghost at night. But the actual demon was the son of the owner who used to come every night and rape Maya. Ultimately, Maya was found to be HIV positive and was sent back her village.

Well, the story might have been different if she was given SRHR education that she needed most at that age.
