WWE Raw® the longest weekly running episodic with more episodes than Gunsmoke and The Simpsons, has had many great moments in it's over 20 years on television. The April 8th 2013 edition of Raw from the Izod Center in East Rutherford New Jersey instantly became one of those moments. Just twenty four hours removed from WWE WrestleMania 29 from MetLife Staidum, the WWE Universe let their voices be heard. With energetic chants for WWE Superstars such as Dolph Ziggler, who cashed in his Money In The Bank contract to become the New World Heavyweight Champion that night To the newly crowned WWE Champion, John Cena, who always generates a strong reaction from the WWE Universe. The hot Izod Center crowd led chants for announcers, referees, even the pretzel and ice cream man received acknowledgement. A Raw “wave” enveloped all sections of the Izod Center, at a point in the broadcast as well. Of all chants that resonated though the Izod Center, there is one chant that has taken a life of its own. One of WWE’s newest Superstars Fandango, with his catchy theme ChaChaLaLa, struck a nerve though the ruckus Raw crowd. By the time the night was over, the fans couldn’t get enough, singing the theme in unison and dancing while pointing their fingers in the air. After the event, throughout the parking lot, and on trains and buses bound for New York City, the WWE Universe sung the words, and ended a great episode of Monday Night Raw. Since Raw on 4/8/13 the term “Fandangoing” has been adopted, with The MLB Network, Kansas City Royals, and Houston Texans Cheerleaders, having fun with the Ballroom Dancing Superstars theme. On behalf of the WWE Universe, we propose that the WWE Raw Crowd from the Izod Center receive Slammy Award consideration for "Best Raw Crowd of 2013". We also propose that the Slammy Award should be accepted on our behalf, by WWE Superstar Fandango.
