Name: Wayne Harley on Aug 26, 2009Comments: I have dreamt of restoring the West Side office and filling it with an HOn3 version of the railroad. Last time I was there the floor had caved in and now I read the walls are going so unless something happens fast, there will soon be no way to do that but a museum, of SOME sort, would be wonderful.Flag

Name: Johnny S. on Mar 20, 2010Comments: I love the Westside Lumber Company, especially Shay #12 at the Colorado Railroad Museum. I care for the other Westside locomotives, too. I think you should preserve the main line and the 250 miles of branches and rebuild the locomotives that were scrapped and other remaining ones. An excursion railroad would be a wonderful idea. Good Luck!!Flag

When I was last there about five years ago, there was a group attempting to operate the remaining trackage. This site really needs to be restored and incorporated into the Tribal Complex. To once again offer scenic rides into the mountains could only be in the best interest of the Tribe and the local population.Flag

Name: Nick Helldorfer on Mar 26, 2011Comments: Hello, my name is Nick Helldorfer. I am sixteen years old. Ive loved railroads as far back as I can remember. Part of this springs from when I received a video of the West Side's neighbor, the Pickering Lumber co and later a visit to one of the last remaining relics of the West Side, the old Bourland Bridge. My dad and I spend the spring, summer and fall months in our cabin in the vicinity of the Pickering's old right of way, exploring the forest for the remains of the old logging line. We have recently expanded our searching of the lumber lines to the West Side, with a visit to Camp Niagara and to the Crumbine oil tank on the other side of the Bourland Bridge. It amazes me that so much more of the West Side still remains as compared to the Pickering. It would mean so much to my father and I if the remaining buildings, track and other relics still remaining in Tuolumne be persevered or rebuilt as a musemue celibrating the rich history and importance of the West Side to Tuolumne county. Please keep me updated as progress continues. Thanks and good luck! Nicholas HelldorferFlag
