| 407 | Al | I was a logger in Tuolumne fror most of the 70's and left in Oct. of 81. As I enter retirement my wife who lived there also and I are planning on building a scale model rail road of the Cherry Westside RR. When I drove truck for Jack Fray Logging I hauled some of the last logs into the old mill yard in Cherry West side. Please preserve the heritage that was ours so long ago. I then went to L and R logging and drove for Rod and Louie Smith two great people. Upon the request of Glenn Tyra I approached my boss about hauling a full size rail road log car and was successful in taking it to Glenn's back porch. Please preserve history. |

| 419 | Mason B Spahn | Both my Great Grandfather C.J. Spahn & Great Grandfather G.D. Rose were very instrumental in reviving the West Side Lumber & Flume Co from 1901 - 1904. They were sent from Dubuque Iowa by Mr. J.T. Adam & Mr J.C. Collier of Carr, Adams, & Collier window Company (Caradco Windows, now Eagle windows). My Great Grandfathers turned a small, break even lumber company into a hugely profitable business for the Crocker Bothers before buying themselves from the Crocker's and in turn selling it for a nice profit. The Crocker's credited them with teaching the existing mill workers on how to properly dry and store the sugar pine to keep it from warping and checking. After Mr. Spahn and Mr. Rose sold the West Side Lumber Co and returned to Dubuque, Iowa they started up the Spahn & Rose Lumber Co, of which I am the 4th generation and we now operate 25 yards in 3 states ( Iowa, Illinois, & Wisconsin). I would love to come visit this site to see where my family started their journey in the lumber business in ernest.
Please save my Family history.
Thank You!
Sincerely
Mason B Spahn |

| 423 | Daniel G Johnson | My great-great uncle is George W Johnson who was one of the "Michigan loggers" who bought West Side in 1904. He became vice president and manager of the mill operations.. My grandfathers, father and other relatives at one time or another, worked for West Side in various capacities. I was raised in Tuolumne City as a youngster 1946-54, and I still fondly remember the spirit stirring sound of that logging train whistle off in the distant hills, a unique, man-made magic in the mountains. Best wishes on restoring and reviving that past. |
| 424 | Chris Morrison-Bey | My father produce a video of this wonderful area. The original footage shot by Mac Owen and Glenn Beier. I love riding my bike along its abandoned tracks now. Hopefully it can be saved in a wonderful way |

| 429 | Brandon Guhl | Lets preserve a part of natural living history. The casino has plenty of room at its current site to build a hotel. Who needs another golf course in Toulumne County. I'll do whatever it takes to save WestSide logging!!!!!!! The casino attracts alot of people, but to have a old logging museum in Toulumne County would bring in twice as many people as the casino does. There are thousands of people out there who would really like to see how a real logging company worked. Lets preserve the past first and the future second. Thank you for taking the time to read this, sincerely,Brandon S.Guhl |
| 430 | Chris Roberts | I've only recently become interested in the WSLC and seeing it preserved is something I would love to see. It's such a fascinating railroad with so much to offer. |

It is imperative we as Californians do our best to keep and maintain such valued history as presented hear. Thank You Paul D. Westover |
