This 'ere is a petition asking the WRU to buy controlling stakes in the four regional franchises currently operating within Wales. It is blatantly obvious that the mismanagement of the professional tier in Wales by the 'benefactors' and their inept administrators has brought the professional game to it's knees. This mismanagement was the main cause for the current malaise within the Welsh game according to the PWC audit that was commissioned. For the WRU to throw good money after bad propping up four failed sides who are non representative of the majority of Welsh Rugby fans, have effectively tried to hold the Union to ransom to get their own way and are now selling Welsh International players against their will to foreign clubs would be a criminal waste of WRU resources. The only way to ensure that professional rugby within Wales is run as a proper part of the developmental pyramid is for the Union to own the four supposedly pro clubs so that it can ensure that the money that is invested is not frittered away as it has been over the past decade of incompetent management at the clubs. We, the undersigned, call upon the Welsh Rugby Union to take the bold measures needed to save the Welsh clubs from themselves, to ensure that the future of Welsh Rugby is secured and that our professional clubs are not run as penis extensions for a handful of rich business men who only care about themselves and don't care about the whole of Welsh Rugby.
