| 1 | James W. | Beyers | AR | US | As a metal detecting enthusiasts who has friends and family in Texas, I sincerely hope that the Texas State Parks Department reconsider their decisions and work with our Texas hobbyists to insure fair and just treatment of all hobbyists |
| 2 | Keith | Wills | TX | US | It is enough to say that since 38 others states in America "DO ALLOW" some type of recreational metal detecting on their state parks, why is Texas refusing to allow the same? Isn't it obvious that the other 38 states had the very same concerns as Texas or any state would, yet they found a way to allow the legal recreational sport that an entire family can enjoy. |
| 3 | Don | Crawford | TX | US | The Parks & Wildlife Dept. has discriminated against metal detectorists
for long enough. Plesse pass the legislation allowing metal detecting
in our State Parks, as do 37 other states in our great country, |
| 4 | Ken | Mathews | TX | US | |
| 5 | John | London | TX | US | |
| 6 | Allen | Lambright | TX | US | |
| 7 | Grover | McNeal | TX | US | no metal detecting no patronizing |
| 8 | Betty | Weeks | OR | US | In Oregon, state parks are open to metal detecting. WE have a great relationship with our state park officials and rangers.
In return, we participate in the Adopt a Park Program. When detecting, we hunt only those areas that are open, (most are)
cover all holes very carefully, pick up trash
and have proven we do care very much for our beautiful park system.
I visit Texas frequently, but find that with state parks not open to detecting, I will vacation elsewhere where my hobby is accepted for the healthy recreational and educational hobby it is for the whole family, both young and old.
thank You. |

| 25 | ronald | barnes | MD | US | a big part of my visiting Texas several times a year is the opportunity to detect on public lands, state parks. |
| 26 | Jack | Tipping | TX | US | Thirty-eight states currently permit recreational metal detecting in state parks; It's time for the Texas Parks Dept. to stop discriminating against our hobby. We've only asked to detect in public use areas so any concern about archaelogical sites is misplaced. |

| 40 | Bob | Brewer | AR | US | It would be of great benefit to the state of Texas and its business communtity if Metal Detecting were allowed on state property. I often metal detect at private sites all over Texas and state parks are often by passed due to the harassment received from officials.
As an author and historian I feel the state parks should be open to the hobby after it is determined no scientific treasures would be disturbed.
Respectfully
Bob Brewer
