Name: Cara Robbins on Apr 5, 2010Comments: I think the city should make changes, and do what it can to help it's citezens to be healthier, and to make environemental improvements. I get a little tired of Winnipeg being behind in the game compared to other cities. It would be nice to see Winnipeg really get IN the game and be a leader in this shift in consciousness.Flag

Not only would it be a healthy economic value for us but also a wonderful educational experience for our children . we would even love to open our backyard flock for field trips for local schools .I think this could be of great benefit & posative influence for innercity families .Thank YouFlag

Name: Ildiko Gyarmati on Apr 19, 2010Comments: I fully support and would like to see urban chickens in Winnipeg. This is now a trend that we are seeing in Canada and the U.S. and it is high time that Winnipeg changed its By-laws so that residents can better provide natural and organic food for themselves.Flag

Name: Stefany Shirley on Apr 21, 2010Comments: I think its ridiculous that there is a ban on this. Honestly I think its linked to Peak of the Market. Regardless of whether they are public with any of this or not, I think they've shown that they want to control the industry here, from plant life to animal life. Because honestly there is no way this law should still be in place in this city while other cities like New York at Vancouver can. Someone is in somebody's pocket here.Flag

Name: Ken Bechtel on Apr 21, 2010Comments: I have raised birds of various kinds over the years. While these have been legally recognised types (canaries, finches), my earlier rural experience included chickens. I am convinced that small numbers of chickens pose no health, odour or sound problems. In many senses, they are more welcome for neighbours than certain dogs or cats.Flag
