Comments: Our children and grandchildren need clean air and clean water to live. Global warming is a frightening reality. icecaps are melting, species are going extinct, severe weather is causing devestation, and human health is declining. We must do what we can to help now and turn to renewable energy options to sustain our fuure.

Comments: It is time that each and every individual in western North Carolina ask themselves why they live, moved here and what they desire to be the future of the mountains. These mountains are being destroyed at breakneck speed, for the sake of economic growth. Is this why so many people invested in second homes in the mountains Do some of us want the smokies transformed into just another industrial zone Did we move here to' get away from it all'or did we come here to fatten our bank accounts, and revel in the present development boomWhat means more to us,gorgous scenery, clean water, low crime rates, great hiking and fresh mountain air ,or economic sucsess in hope that some day we wil be able to buy our own second home some place with all of the above.Detroit maybe I have asked myself these questions and made my own decisions.Life, contrary to what so many folks believe,is not about making money, being sucsessfull and competitive, life ,I know, is about long hikes in the woods, leisurly fishing, family outings, and helping neighbors. In short, happiness can only come through the appreciation of the creator and creation. When you ,we, see these once great mountains cluttered with needless development, and the once quaint valleys filled with industry and infrastructure,we know then that neither the creator or creation is cherished, but only used for the purpose of even more usury.Again, ask yourself, why are you here
