| 1 | Elaine Lite | Please support renewable technologies that wil not destroy our environment. |
| 2 | Ned Ryan Doyle | |
| 3 | Brady Preyss | An oil burning power plant is absolutely the wrong direction. We need to invest in renewables and conservation. Let's not make our air quality worse! |
| 4 | Ellen Rubenstein Chelmis & Family | You, County Commissioners, KNOW you were being irresponsible with your decision to lease OUR land to Progress Energy, given that you HID your negotiations with P.E. for 2 years. Now is the time to "come clean" and rescind your lease offer, and give the idea of filling our energy needs by OTHER, CLEANER MEANS a great deal more thought, with public input and scientific research to back it. DON'T BE BULLIED - DO THE RIGHT THING NOW! This is Buncombe's chance to show the world we are not backwards mountain folk, to demonstrate how FORWARD THINKERS can inspire and move others to follow, to be a beacon in smoke-filled skies, showing the way to clear ones! TOGETHER, let's implement conservation measures to reduce our present energy needs and our dependence on foreign oil, and find alternative means to supplement our needs as we grow. Let our example enhance our image as a new age center of enlightenment in the oldest mountains on the planet, and let our economy improve with it... |

| 9 | Alison Cebulla | |
| 10 | Zoe Hoyle | Because of our location, we need to do everything we can to promote alternative energy sources, and to prevent more air pollution. The power plant is a regressive and wasteful solution. |

| 16 | Kathryn Gunn | This proposal is short sighted and not well thought out. I would like to see alternative energy proposals in place.
Lets put Asheville on the map for being progressive rather than regressive!

| 20 | FORREST GREEN | Woodfin and the Ashvevill area DO NOT NEED THIS POWER PLANT. It will not be an enhancment to our region nor will it be a step in the direction of a renewable energy future.
THANKS |
| 21 | Jim Barton | I'm excited about looking over the alternative plan for 130 Megawatts after it is released on 3/21/07. |
| 22 | Anderson Long | Disavow reckless consumption. Disavow personal greed. Consider the generations that will follow our puny selves that are bound for dust and decay. Love your children. Love your grandchildren. Let your decisions be guided by the magnanimous. |
| 23 | Melinda Guinn | I am a former resident of Buncombe County and it has been my dream to return to the area and invest in property in Buncombe or the surroundings.
I was devestated to learn of this power plant proposal and strongly urge you to consider the beauty of the region and to preserve that beauty and value.
There is a call for greener living, a reduction in energy consuption and production and a shift in priority - to the well being of the land, air quality and water quality in this country. Please do the right thing and create a sustainable future for us and our children.

| 29 | Matt Dinsmore | This is absurd. There are alternatives. |
| 30 | Marcello Aurelio Lanfranchi | Stop screwing the people of North Buncombe County to provide cheap power for the yuppies in Asheville! |
| 31 | Steven L. Liebenhaut | I am against the proposed power plant in Woodfin because it will create an unhealthy environment, is expensive, contributes to global warming, and is unnecessary.
I support efficient and clean, renewable energy and request elected and appointed officials join in endorsing this effort. |

| 35 | Linda Wells | We can't continue to build more power plants. People MUST use less electricity. I recently was given the opportunity to find out how much power my old refrigerator is drawing. Turns out nearly 1/2 of my scant 10 hrs/day comes from the fridge. I'm going to replace it with an energy saver. If more of us were given ideas about how to conserve, maybe more of us would do it and we wouldn't need to keep fouling our air (I live in Woodfin) and using so much fossil fuel. |
| 36 | Ann Martin | |
| 37 | Lewis Patrie | No new fossil or nuclear power plants should be built until and unless it is clearly demonstrated that they offer long term benefits that are better for future generations than conservation of energy and renewable sources that will not substantially add to the woes of those who come after us. If it means sacrifices for us, we should consider how privileged we are to live in an era of creature comforts that may not be available for our grandchildren and their grandchildren. |
| 38 | Bernie Byrne | Please, be responsible, this is OUR air. There are a lot of reasonable ways to satisfy our energy needs.
Thank You!
