NATIONAL WOMEN'S COUNCIL OF IRELAND
We the undersigned call on the Irish Government to protect women, families and communities in Budget 2010 by honouring the commitments it has made, both nationally and internationally, through the EU and the UN, to women and women's equality.
In particular we call on Government to;
1. Maintain social welfare payments including child benefit at their current rates.
2. Continue to fund local and national women's organisations.
3. Make no further cuts to the National Women's Council of Ireland, the strong, independent voice for women, nationally and internationally.
