Protest MTSU Womack Apartment Rent Increase

The petition

The rent of MTSU's family housing, Womack Lane Apartments, is proposed to increase 25%, an average increase of $86-94 per month for single students, and $150-170 per month for families (assuming a full year residency).

Because Womack Lane Apartments rent is higher than all other state universities' family housing, and will be even higher after the proposed increase,

Because raising the Womack rents will make them higher than comparable local rents,

Because raising rents will add hardship to already impoverished students,

We protest this and propose that the Tennessee Board of Regents adopt a smaller increase to keep Womack Lane comparable to other universities' housing and local rents.
