Name: Ron Barner on Feb 26, 2005State: NJCountry: USComments: Give those politicans a big dose of reality. The only reason that I and hundereds of other people from New Jersey come to Cumberland is the steam train. No steam train, no visist; no visit, no spending $$$$$$. Their new funding cut back is very short-sighted. Railfans such as myself and my family will spend our $$ on other steam trains. This funding cut will hurt the economy of western maryland bigtime. Name: Joe Fusco on Feb 26, 2005State: PACountry: USComments: Yes...I would hate to see the WMSR do this. I love going there. I would stop if they do what they say they will do. That means I wont stay in the Holiday in, or help Cumberland's economy by using their facilities whatsoever. I know alot of others who would do the same. DONT LET THE WMSR DO THIS! I LOVE GOING THERE! YOU WONT SEE ME IN CUMBERLAND AGAIN IF THEY DO THIS! LONG LIVE THE WESTERN MARYLAND SCENIC RAILROAD!!! Joe...Flag

Name: Walter Sarapa on Feb 26, 2005State: CTCountry: USComments: Our steam train museums and tourist lines are the last reminders of our industrial past. Without them, new generations will have no tangible connection to an important piece of their heritage. Bike and walking paths can easily be built for a fraction of the cost of constructing roadbed, I believe that is a much better alternative.Flag

Name: Bruce Luecke on Feb 26, 2005State: WICountry: USComments: A nearby biking /hiking trail already exists along the Potomac River. To destroy the historic and beautiful Western Maryland Scenic Railroad by removing 10 miles for a bike ride would be a dreadful mistake.Flag
