| 463 | Brant Goble | Dr. Ransdell:
I ask that you strive to improve the overall efficiency of our campus. While I would be pleased to see the campus made more efficient for environmental reasons, much of my concern is of an immediate and pragmatic nature. Given the current political climate, our school (and others throughout the state) may continue to see reductions in state funding. This will inevitably lead to either greater expense for students or a reduction in services.
By increasing the efficiency our Western Kentucky University’s (WKU) campus (including its computer systems), this institution can post-pone tuition increases and service reductions both in the near and long term. If WKU can undertake such a cost- and (in the long-term) energy-saving initiative, it will become both a better model of social responsibility for both its students and the members of the surrounding community, all while increasing its level of academic and financial competitiveness.
Respectfully,
Brant Goble

| 477 | Maria Cooper | I believe the university should take steps towards reducing the amount of papers and plastics that it uses, but I do not believe in recycleing these products, as the recycling process dumps more pollutants into the environment then making new stuff. However it is fine to recycle metals such as aluminum cans. |
