There is a proposed development of the land between Winona Rd. and Fifty Rd.,south of the service road. The proposal includes the building of a 183,000 square foot Walmart (TWICE the size of the Superstore in Grimsby),with over 3,000 parking spaces,with an additional 200,000 square feet of retail,as the 'gateway' to our community.This is 400,000 square feet collectively! REASONS TO OPPOSE THIS DEVELOPMENT -Traffic Congestion;it will be like having the Peach Festival traffic everyday of the year. -Upgrading the infrastructure will add greatly to our tax burden. -It weakens the sense of place and community cohesiveness. -It masquerades as a form of economic development. -It will not be a pleasing,appropriate gateway to the community.
