Name: Gregory Shalhoub on Jul 1, 2008City:Comments: I have been living in Northern Westchester for 11 years and have driven by this beautiful building hundreds of times. It was a shame to see it neglected with overgrown grass and in need of maintenance. I think the work that Mr. DeChiaro has done to clean it up and make it presentable is commendable. I think this building is a great site for a winery and a different and welcome business to the area.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 1, 2008City: CrompondComments: Dear Westchester Legislators and Politicians, This man is trying to open in good faith, a legitimate and profitable business in Westchester County. It will be good not only for local farmers in the area but also local private local business owners in the area in helping show in coming together in unity for something unique such as Long Island, where there is a famous winery Duck Walk Vineries. I think the local jurisdictions are giving this man too hard a time to try to start his own, legitimate, local winery, open to local wine officados and conniseurs.Flag

Name: Nancy Bailenson on Jul 1, 2008City:Comments: I can't imagin why this town would not want a winery such as this in it's town. It's okay to have home depot and walmart (eye soars) right down the street but, a winery in such a beautiful building that would add culture and interest is an issue for some what are they thinking..Flag

Tom has done a magnificent job here in bringing something wonderful to this town. Every day not open is a WASTE! Good luck and I know the winery will prevail.Flag

Name: Jan Greenbaum on Jul 2, 2008City: Mahopac, NYComments: Looking forward to the re-opening. I haven't read the lawsuit as yet, however, if memory serves me right, I believe the town officials felt it would cause too much traffic. That's ludicrous as I'm sure when it was an active church, it had much more traffic then a winery would cause. It is located at the end of Mohegan Lake, not in the midst of the traffic blockage where all the stores are. The Winery is a welcome upscale establishment to the area and upgrades the Mohegan shopping area.Flag

Name: Carole Shillito on Jul 2, 2008City: Mohegan LakeComments: Finally something we can all enjoy - not a cell phone store, nail salon or distributor of unhealthy fast food. Since moving to Mohegan Lake in 1998 I have wondered why this beautiful old building was abandoned and a sad eyesore. The quality of the work done to restore this wonderful structure honors the beauty and stature of thie "Old Stone Church". It is a beautiful tribute to Mohegan Lake as one enters our town. I hope you will succeed in your endeavor beyond the ridiculous and costly trials you have been subjected to. I thought our politicians were supposed to be invested in the desires and quality of life of the people they represent and who elect them.Flag
