Name: Rudy Hillinga on Jul 7, 2008Comments: The US can no longer procastrenate and put $400 billion annually into the hands of "outsiders, " who often use the monies to finance actions detrimental to our national interest, while we now have the technology to produce wind and other alternative forms of energy, compatible with present high cost and CO2 contaminating fossil fuels.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 13, 2008Comments: The only problem with the money earned in excess being returned to the Social Security administration is that not all citizens benefit from this fund. Ronald Regan's administration created legislation preventing many public servants from collecting from this fund despite their contributions ( in my case more than 30 years). As an educator, this legislation sees my benefitting from this fund as "double dipping" since I participate in a teacher retirement plan which I have also had to pay in to. This is despite the fact that military personnel are allowed to retire, collect their retirement (at an earlier age) then work towards SS benefits as well. I would want that changed if profits are to be paid to a fund I can't presently benefit from.Flag
