Comments: I use Wilton fondant only because it's all that I can buy in my area. And as much as I love the look of a fondant cake, I hate when people want one, because of the taste of it. I always warn them that it is totally about appearance and NOT taste and recommend that they don't eat it, instead pull off the decorations or eat around the fondant. As for texture, it's great to work with, but cakes are for eating and I'd say Wilton fondant is NOT!!!! Please make it taste and feel better in my mouth!!!

Comments: I will never put this fondant on a cake. It has a strange, chemical taste. I buy other brands or make my own and I tell others to do the same.

Comments: The fondant is workable and useful- but that's about it. In terms of taste, it is not appealing. Some people think that fondant isn't even edible after tasting Wilton's. I don't think it would hurt at all to change the taste of the fondant nor do I believe it could change its consistency and durability by a large degree. More people are switching to other brands of fondant every day, and if Wilton doesn't act fast, it won't need to make fondant any longer; it will have lost all business with it.

Comments: It really is gross.. I've had people who ask me to make them cakes specifically ask for NO FONDANT because all they have had was the Wilton brand. You would think Wilton would have more pride in their name than to sell something so disliked and subpar.

Comments: It would be very nice if Wilton would change their fondant to improve upon the taste. Wilton's price is inline with that of Satin Ice, Pettinice and Fondx yet is very substandard in taste. When I do not have time to make my own I would purchase Wiltons ready made fondant if it were equal to or better than these other brands.

Comments: yep, its gross. sorry guys. the cake decorating world uses it to cover dummy cakes. It gives all fondant a bad name because many customers are only exposed to this and decide it all must be the same.

Comments: I was always so sad to hear that everyone loved my decorating skills and loved MY cake but HATED the fondant! I hated it, too. Thank goodness I found the alternatives. I will NEVER buy Wilton again. I am a member a cake club w/ literally thousands of members. We ALL HATE Wilton fondant! We heard Wilton doesn't care that we hate it! I'm considering boycotting all Wilton products...
