The local authorities finally agreed to the full audit we requested. I am truly stunned that this actually happened and I know it only worked because you all kept pushing. Let's keep paying attention to the details as they start the process.
Petition: We as citizens and taxpayers in the greater Wilmington and New Hanover County area demand that taxpayer-subsidized agencies - be they economic development or other... undergo a comprehensive audit by an out of state firm, and such audit comprise of the previous 10 years in scope; with a focus on money being exchanged for purposes not specified in the agency's charter, and the political implications of such.
Need a real audit done by someone who isnt friends with the local board. Ten years is the bare minimum for transparency.

The lack of accountability here is just insane. We deserve to know how our hard earned money is spent instead of just guessing.

Finally. About time someone started looking into where our tax money actually goes in this town.
