Name: Aaron Buchanan on Dec 20, 2009Comments: I agree whole-heartedly that, though I deeply respect the work of Nicholas Hooper, Williams is the only composer who should be considered to close out the Harry Potter series. He started it, let us hope that he will finish it.Flag

Name: Julie Sherwood on Dec 28, 2009Comments: With the changing of directors for the past 6 films continuity has been an issue. The changing of composers does not help at all. patrick doyle and nicholas hooper, although good composers were not up to par, and i feel greatly damaged the films as apposed to adding to them. Prisoner of azkaban was the best film, and much of that was due to williams score being perfect, as if the score and the film were a single entity. There is one book left; 2 films. They NEED John Williams. These movies are not quite Harry Potter without him.Flag

Name: Nicholas Jenkins on May 27, 2010Comments: John Williams is true musical genius. In his absence, the Harry Potter films have lossed some of their suspense. I am not putting down Nicholas Hooper but I, like you, feel that as the series started with John Williams it should end with him too. His musical talent seems not to diminish with age but get better. PLEASE BRING THE MASTER BACK...Flag

Name: Daniel Williamson on Jul 2, 2010Comments: Without question will this film be an epic event in world of harry potter. I felt practically nothing when our dear Dumbledore passed on in the sixth film, not because I'm a jerk but mostly due to the music feeling empty. With the seventh film being the most dramatic of the series, we need music that will live in our hearts forever just as the story has all these years. John Williams is the artist to do it. Bring him back!!Flag

Name: Scott Campbell on Dec 3, 2010Comments: For me the soundtrack to The Deathly Hallows strikes out on two counts: Although Mr. Desplat is a genius at writing deep, layered tunes within The Deathly Hallows there is no apparent theme... just not very inspired pseudo Gothic references, without any literal feeling of magic. Mr. Desplat has also completely purged the overarching theme of the series from the movie excepting for eight muted notes in the WB logo on the opening. Without utilizing the HP melody as a unifying tool or at very least establishing a consistent dramatic theme Mr. Desplat pretty much sends everyone everyone else’s hard work a little sideways. Imagine a Puccini opera changing the theme and melody between acts or for that matter LOTR, Star Wars or any other series of movies forsaking their own crafted signature melody for one entire movie… this is what has happened and the story suffers deeply for it.Flag
