The petition
We, the undersigned support the development of the William Hunter Way car park in principle, but ask the Developers and the local Council to ensure the following:
)A significant buffer zone is put in place to protect local residents on all sides of the development.
)Any buildings on the development are “in keeping” with other local buildings. (Brentwood Council’s Planning Brief 2005.)
)Any buildings must be no higher than two stories. (Brentwood Council’s Planning Brief 2005)
)No buildings must significantly overlook residential properties. (Brentwood Council’s Planning Brief 2005)
)There will be no licensed premises on the site.
)There will be no increase in town centre traffic as a result of this scheme.
)Proper, public, provision is made for parking and traffic control during the construction period.
)We demand that the Council invite an independent environmental audit to assess the potential damage to the environment.
)We demand that the Council ensures that a full independent opinion poll is carried out so that every resident in Brentwood can have a say.
)We demand assurances that any development will not result in already excessive levels of anti-social behavior in Brentwood town centre.
