Comments: Sandra, I hope you will hear loudly and clearly that the vast majority of people in this fine neighbourhood WANT the dog off-leash park to STAY! I have hung with friends andn neighbours there. Seen it's positive impact on building local community ties and supports. I also believe that the presence of conscientious dog owners increases the safety for everyone in the area. And,I believe, most dog owners are conscientious folks. I urge you to change your position on the closure of this park.

Comments: as a behavioral consultant on staff with the largest school in the GTA I can attest as to the importance of having designated and safe areas to exercise pet dogs within urban communities. Should this park be removed, not only would the dogs and their families who use the park be adversely affected, but so too would the very people who want the park eliminated and their neighbors. First, should the park be removed, then dog owners are likely to allow their dogs to run off leash in other areas which may encroach upon the public. Secondly, dogs who are underexercised present a risk behaivorally to their families and are more likely to be rehomed or euthanized due to behaviroal issues. A safe fenced off leash area helps to preclude this adn keep families together. Finally, having a fenced and designated area will help keep other areas of the park dog free for those of the community who don't like or are afraid of dogs. Kind regards; Joan Weston B.Sc. Comments: The city of toronto makes over 5 million (this number is accrate)yearly in dog licencing as well as generated revenue for off lead tickets. As a tax payer that contrubuts and supports many public facilites, services and projects that do not apply to my personal life style I am truley dissapointed that my life style with my dogs is consistently being discrimated aginest. What about my rights! I pay taxes for schools and the noice of the kids bother me ... but do I want to get rid of the school Isn't there more important issues to resolve in this city!

Comments: I support Wildwood Dog Park as an important community gathering place. I don't have a dog but have been there several times to talk with others. I wonder if there is a way to keep the park, and ensure that the concerns of the neighbours are also addressed - a compromise instead of the knee-jerk reaction of taking the fenced in park away. PK

Comments: Although I do not use this particular park, I work for an organization that supports the needs of dog lovers. There are so few of these parks left. They should be maintained. Any dog owner that takes the time to take their dog to a park dedicated for this purpose should be applauded and supported.

Comments: It's pretty sad when non-dog owners feel that they have more rights to a park and make it a goal of theirs to take away the joy that dog owners get from owning dogs, socializing with other dog owners, meeting and befriending neighbours and simply enjoying time with their pet a park that is there for everyone to use. Comments: Ms. Bussin is misinformed or confused - despite what is stated in the article, the off-leash area is not only from 7-10am, but is a 24 hr dog park, and there are six off-leash areas in her ward, with a variety of rules or designated times, not ten. One of these she was not even aware of until I told her (she denied it) and showed her the listing on the City document! It would help if the City would replace the signs at the Wildwood entrances with ones that were readable. Don't close down any off-leash parks until new ones have been opened. As the usage gets spread out more proportionately across the City, the noise and overcrowding issues at the existing ones will cease to be such a problem. Luan Egan, www.torontounleashed.com

Comments: Councillor: Please consider all of the above reasons including peace of mind for the owners. We have just moved into the area from the West end, which has some off leash dog parks, but none that are FENCED IN and easily accessible by foot or transit. It would be more than disapointing if you were to support the closing of this park.

Comments: I do not live in this neighbourhood but do live close by and have visited the park - off leash areas aren't just good for dogs - they are good for people too. They build happy friendly communities where people look out for each other. I've talked to and gotten to know people I otherwise wouldn't have if I didn't get a dog and start going to the off leash. Closing this park is short sighted, I think Ms. Bussin could be focussing her energies on more important matters, like the current land transfer tax and the possible cuts to city services and TTC. Shame on you!

Comments: This park is a big part of both our dog's and our lives. We have brought our pug since he was a puppy. It is where he learned to be well socialized, through playing with others. We have gotten to know many neighbours and other people in our community through the use of the park. Here is a solution to the noise..re-route the trains, and close the auto repair place ajoined to the park. Besides that take a lesson from Jane Jacobs, in that a park creates a vaccume in a neighbourhood, attracting the bad, if not used...a GOOD park, is one that is well used and many uses..ie both dog park and playground, like Wildwood
