To the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Board of Control:

We, the undersigned, implore the Board to revisit their decision in the case of the realignment of Southeast Wisconsin's Classic 8 Conference. It is our belief that the current alignment of the conference puts specific high schools at a disadvantage in competition.

The Classic 8, which now includes Kettle Moraine, Muskego, Oconomowoc, Waukesha North, Waukesha South, Waukesha West, Catholic Memorial, Arrowhead, and Mukwonago, places some schools at an advantage over others. Specifically, Waukesha North and Waukesha South have struggled to compete in this conference, mainly due to smaller size and lack of resources. The smaller number of players on their teams leads to players being overworked when put up against larger teams like those at Arrowhead, Oconomowoc, and Mukwonago. Oftentimes, this can lead to extreme stress and injury. Many North and South athletes have been badly hurt this school year, and we, the students, staff, parents, coaches, and all those that support these athletic programs, feel that this cannot continue.

The athletes at Waukesha North and Waukesha South are extremely talented and dedicated. They deserve every chance they can get, just like athletes from any other school. It's simply a fact that demographically, North and South are very different from the other schools in their conference. If other schools are placed in their conferences according to these criteria, why is that not the case for these two schools? We feel that the Board's decision is essentially a slight to North and South's athletes, and we demand that the Board uphold the WIAA's commitment to equality and sportsmanship, and do the right and fair thing. The Waukesha schools stand together and ask for their hardworking students to get the treatment they deserve.
