I am a trained classical musician and I fully understand also the huge importance for the music to connect to the litrugy through Gregorian, Palestrina . The early sacred music is faithful to the scripture whereas the contemporary songs in the Catholic Church are not as serious. I have observed that the old ancient hymns as well as the hymns in the protestant churches all stand firm on Bible scripture which additionally keeps the heart and mind on Jesus Christ.
