I am a normal guy whose married with a newborn whose been out of work for over 4yrs.I am not bad man just because I made mistakes in my past with a crimnal background.No I dont have any felonies,gun charges,drugs,DUI's,ect and am certainly not a sex offender. I have minor misdemeanors that prevent employers from hiring me and all I want to do is work and take care of my family.Since 9/11 the goverment has changed all background checks and employers treat misdemeanors like they are felonies and will not give me a job. Unfortunately, in Greenville, SC they hold an individual's past against them and this is why people commit crimes due to not being given a second chance.However, I had all my misdemeanors pardoned by the Board Of Pardons And Parole and still I have to put down on all my applications that I have been convicted of a crime. Even till this day my phone doesnt ring for a promising job offer although the job may give a drug test but no call back. My wish is for the goverment to allow people with misdemeanors to get a "real" job and not allow employers to hold their past against them.
