I can't actually understand how YGPC could possibly think this business could work in any other way than the one it does now. Yes the area is up for regeneration with the new tram line, but the new tram is only going to take people out of Oldham and into Manchester. Oldham is a sinking ship. Whittles is one of the only places left in the town where one can enjoy themselves away from the brain dead delinquants that run the Yorkshire st area in the evening. I ask YGPC to be proud of what they've got. A pub thats still open in Oldham, keeping the music loving community together because without it Whittles will die. It's as simple as that. No one knows Oldham better than Oldhamers themselves.Flag

Keef, his family staff, and the musicians who play there have put a lot of work into making this a successful venue and that is a great achievement in these times. I have had every birthday here and the atmosphere and the people who are go are like family to me now. The landlord and landlady are lovely and sooo accomodating and have worked so hard to make the pub the way it is that if it no longer plays live music, there will be many upset people in the oldham area including me because there is nowhere else i can go to see live bands easily. Its been my 2nd home for 10 years and if it becomes anything other than a live music venue then it will just be like every other pub/bar we have in oldham. Please keep it as a live music venue.Flag
