Comments: We are totally opposed to this Planning Application on many grounds including the environment, flood prevention and the effect it will have on a residential area. See www.whitstablebeachcampaign.org for more information. We are also concerned that the appllicant's record of operating a similar establishment on the East Quay is abysmal. A 2009 police report detailed drug use and violent crime including a member of the door staff biting off a customer's ear..

Comments: The beach is a working natural environment, enjoyed by locals and many visitors. Any form of development will alter the balance and be totally detrimental to the area. Close by to the tennis courts exists a corner shop which provides tea, coffee and great food and a short walk into town will be found numerous places to eat and drink. Whitstable needs another cafe about as much as it needs another charity shop. Keep the beach as a beach. One other concern would be the degree of rubbish a cafe would produce, litter would become a greater problem than it is now which is bad in the warmer times of the year.

Comments: I object to the development CA/10/02148 as the town does not require any further beach front commercial development

Comments: As a former resident and now frequent visitor of Whitstable I feel strongly that Whitstable beach has a unique charm, that being unspoilt by commercial development. Long may it remain that way.

Comments: Wildlife in the UK is already under threat due to increased development, when an area is designated as protected there should be no allowance through any kind of loophole for this protection to be breached.

Comments: The area is critical for migratory birds and any more building that is allowed will have a very negative effect. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants both on and near the beach and if any more are felt to be needed to cater for the tourists they should NOT be allowed on the beach.

Comments: I am opposing an application for a commercial development on the beach in Whitstable that is a Protected Open Space and part of the Swale SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). This area is of critical importance for migratory birds. It is frankly an outrageous misuse of a environmentally undeveloped space and an area of infringement of free dome and detrimentally intrusive to the public interest D Marriott CEng CSci FRSA

Comments: Although I don't live in Whitstable, it is a part of the country that I visit and know reasonably well. I feel most strongly that the invasion of yet another cafe is not in the best interests for safeguarding an important area for rare and scarce migratory birds. What is more important, retaining our coast and beaches for our wildlife and public enjoyment or yet another commercial business to blight the landscape?

Comments: i have commented on the underhand activities of the green family many times and locked horns with them in the papers over the years. i am getting very tired of this continual beach ownership tactic. you have my full syupport and i should like to be kept informed of all developements regarding this application. This company does employ third parties to make applications so as not to attract attention to the family name.. please be aware of this... hmfarmer
