On the 1st March, Blaby District Council are going to committee to decide on the planning application for a proposed takeaway where the Wheatsheaf pub currently sits. We all know the trouble this can cause for local residents at night with antisocial behaviour, not to mention the effects to the main road. The Highways agency have already blocked this development in the past, due to congestions that will be caused on the High St. The Highways have now passed this planning application even though the issue of illegal parking on the High St has not been resolved. We ask you as local residents to stand up and defend the local village. Whetstone is a quaint village with no antisocial behaviour or air pollution. The new takeaway will change the areas landscape.
