Comments: I am an Occupational therapist in Cumbria and have lots of clients who use Watchtree and really benefit from it, a tarmac cycle track would be much easier than rough terrain to manage.

Comments: The proposed facility is much needed. There is no similar off-road facility in Cumbria that I am aware of. The nearest I believe is central Lancashire.

Comments: This track would be a fantastic opportunity for many of the young people I work with to enable them to cycle on a safe and secure route, whilst building confidence, self esteem and excercising.

Comments: Watchtree Wheelers is an essential provision for fledgling cyclists. It offers the opportunity to cycle untroubled by cars, and beginners, never-beforers or people with disabilities can build their confidence on a variety of bikes.

Comments: I fully support this. Watchtree Nature Reserve does a lot to encourage cycling, particularly among the younger population. It is also a good stop off venue for cycle trips from Carlisle. As a Committee member of the Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild I am organising a historical cycle tour for members this spring from Carlisle to Dalston, then to Watchtree and on to the Solway Coast before returning to Carlisle.
