Name: Ronald C. Licata on Jan 18, 2009Affiliation: RepublicanComments: I agree with Wheelan and feel while this country needs the stimulus, I do not think we should be throwing money at every special interest project in the name of economic security. We need to be sure the money spent will benefit the great good, not the greater few.Title :Flag

Name: Brian Held on Jan 18, 2009Affiliation: Loyola High School of Los AngelesComments: I use Naked Economics for my Advanced Placement Microeconomics and Macroeconomics classes. Wheelan comes across as one grounded in the core principles of economics for problem solving without being blindly partisan. I think that the current crisis may show that "capitalism" -- or rather the rules governing complex markets -- has serious flaws. However, the current crisis does not invalidate the core principles of economics that generally depict human behavior accurately.Title :Flag

Weaver, Ph.D on Jan 18, 2009Affiliation: semi-retired consultantComments: Note that a revenue neutral tax shift from something like payroll taxes to resource taxes like an oil tax will create a stimulus effect (increase in total demand) by giving Joe Average a very profitable opportunity to invest in oil savings such as buying a hybrid or moving closer to work. Joe Average will go into debt on an investment with a strong positive ROI knowing that a $ saved is a $ + tax earned.Title :Flag
