However since my situation has changed I have spent several hours and money on calls to csa informing them of my change of circumstances. I phoned them as soon as my new child was born, to inform them that I could not simply afford the payment that they were still asking as I now had two children in my care and my rent and all bills to pay. We struggle as it is on my low income on a regular basis, we are currently claiming housing and council tax benefit, due to the fact that we struggle to meet our own day to day cost let alone the amount the csa are asking me to pay. However despite my repeated phone calls, the seemed incapable of re-accessing my case telling me it would take up to six weeks for a simple change. Yet when I tell the csa a change of address or bank details they are quick enough to adjust their system then. It took almost 10 months since I them about these details.
I did not wish to stop paying the child maintenance completely, but they left me with no choice as I simply could not afford to pay my rent and feed/clothe my own children with you taking the amount that the csa believed that I should pay each month.
Understandably I had now built up a backlog from when I stopped the payments, which is entirely down to the csa and their incompetence. If the csa would of adjusted my case accordingly last year, then I would of carried on making the correct payments due to them.
Now I have the stress of the csa phoning not only myself, but my partner’s family, of which it has nothing to do with, because I owe them money. Yet still, instead of trying to make my payments more affordable, so that I can begin making payments again, all they are interested is asking for my bank details to take lump sums of money off me. Which is just not possible, as the money is not there!
They then informed me that they planned to take about £84.00 a week off me and my family, which includes my new amount which has finally been looked at plus my back payment. I would like to know how they can justify taking this amount off me and my young family leaving us with about £300 a month to live on and pay gas, water, council tax bills (all of which total more than this alone, let alone us buying food for our own children). I’m sure you will agree it is not possible, and if this happens I will not only be behind with the payments for csa but would also start struggling with my rent payments of about £600 a month which of course would put me and my family in even more difficulty.
The csa have put me and my family under an enormous amount of stress with the handling of my case. Sending me threatening letters and leaflets, when the simple matter is, I am willing to pay my child maintenance but I simply cannot afford to pay the amount that they are asking from me. I feel it is extremely unfair that I am now responsible to clear a back payment debt which was NOT my fault and WAS the csa's fault. If they would have updated my case within a reasonable amount of time, the back log would never have built up in the first place.
I stress that I am happy to begin paying the correct maintenance due, but I cannot see how the csa can justify taking about £84.00 a week off a family with 2 young children already struggling on a low income and in receipt of benefits ourselves. Throwing us into a life of poverty is certainly not going to help me make my child maintenance payments on time.
This situation has caused me and my family so much stress and worry that if the csa continue to seek to take this amount, I intend to take my case to my local MP or even further.
I am now at the stage where I wonder if trying to work hard and get on well in life is really worth all the hassle and stress, especially when I might be better off financially if I am unemployed.
When I hear about fathers that are very rude and obnoxious towards the CSA that don’t care about paying their way, it makes me think why I should always be one of the few that are very pleasant and helpful and honest towards them.
I am very stressed and fed up with this issue now, even more so as it could have been avoided in the first place. |

In other words they gave it to me with one hand and took it away with the other...the only people that gained were those living in an expensive house driving a four wheel drive and a convertible, a motorbike just for fun and taking 2/3 holidays a year! how crazy is that?? |

I have had my children every weekend, clothe them,make sure they are okay by buying them mobile phones, CSA and my ex are not happy with this, i now have a partner and 2 year old and cannot afford to live, whilst my ex wife is having a great life, boyfriend who will not move in because they are too well of with all she can claim, I love my children and would not mind paying towards them obviously but my children do not see any of this money it is for my ex and her boyfriend to have a nice time at my expense, she tells my children im an uncarring father,is so rude about my new partner who is wonderful to my children but they are not allowed to be nice to her, but are allowed to say things like my mum hates you and thinks your a slag, i hate to say, my children are so poisoned, and at the end of the day thats all my ex thinks of is money, my children are her pawns CSA criple us caring dads who do things all the time for their children, which the ex wifes fail to mention, we dont have a hope in hell. I have worked all my life and feel their is nothing more to work for, as our debts are mounting and my ex is living it up nice one CSA carry on distroying us fathers the system stinks and is totally unfair, but who cares, who have we to go to,who will help us, and who suffers at the end THE CHILDREN |

He pays through the nose and his ex has turned the kids against him telling them that he pays for nothing. We have always tried to get along, bt she is money mad. She doesnt work - and never has - and now sponges off the other bloke who shes recently married. The money the CSA sends her rarely goes on the kids, apart from when she goes to florida every year - at our expense. It would be so nice if we could not work, sponge off the state benefits, and go on holiday every year - but we cant, cos we have to pay for her to do it!!! the CSA even take my wage into account, even though they're not my kids, saying that our debts, bills and mortgage should be paid equally by both of us, thus giving him more 'disposable' income each month to spare for her!!
The only saving grace is it wont go on forever - he wont pay for them once they've finished school, and then she'll have to get off her lazy backside and get a job like the rest of us... but knowing her she'll leave her new husband and then tak him through the csa...
the system needs to be changed to ensure that fathers do pay for their kids... but fairly. If the dad didnt want kids, and she had them anyway and he never sees them, perhaps a little leniency is in order. If the dad isnt allowed to see them, then why the hell should he pay? And maybe the government should send a message to these young mums to be to advise them to keep their legs shut next time.. many young girls see kids as an easy way to get a flat/house, benefits galore... and on top of that a bit extra from the CSA... god I did it all wrong working for a living and only choosing to have kids when i was financially stable!
good luck to all the dads out there fighting this... you're gonna need all the help you can get.... just always make sure you've got enough for a lottery ticket... then put the winnings in a trusted persons name so the bitch cant touch it! |

I was lured into getting her pregnant, which was a plan plotted by her and her single mother(!)SICK(!), After five years of relationship, she ended it by sleeping with my so called friends and loads of other people. That hurt my feelings very much. I have NEVER done that to her..! I think I was targeted because I was the only one out of all my friends who had a stable job. She has never let me see my son, who is 13 now, and has brainwashed him into thinking that I am some sort of depraved monster who dosent care about him. Also she tried to run my reputation by spreading roumours about me to everybody at my work and other people I know to try to stop me from getting another girlfriend - (which didnt work).. It isn't nice having people talking about you behind your back, I found my work life suffered and my self esteem was very low, and it made me very depressed. I started to hate my job because people knew my business, most of it was lies.
I think these type of women deserve to be burnt at the stake. It now looks like I will never get to be a real father to him, so I have now given up. I have made a will to make sure they don't get their hands on my estate, and that's that. I HATE THE C.S.A. - you have caused me nothing but added despair on top of everything else.
How can you say that I am an absent father, when SHE planned to do this to me in the first place? And I only live HALF A MILE from him?? She has now had another child with another man. (Which she did because I got myself a girlfriend who cares about me!) WHY DOES THE GOVERNMENT LET THIS SORT OF THING HAPPEN ? WHY ARE MOST CHILDREN AT SCHOOL NOW HAVE ONLY ONE PARENT? Something is terribly wrong with this society, and I am ashamed to be a part of Britain. This sort of thing would never have happened years ago, it seems this stupid govt want all 16 year old girls pregnant. For months i was deverstated and as i was so far away from my family i moved back home as the months went by i got threatening phone calls from her and her family and over time i got over the relationship and threw myself into work, nearly 8 months later i had a phone call from a former friend telling me that she had a girl, i did not know what to do and i really didn't fell like i could be a father to the child so i let her and her mother get on with there life. it's now seven years on and i now have a family a step daughter and a child on the way we bought a house 18 months ago and have settled we have run up some debts but manage to keep our heads above water, a few months ago i got a visit from a person from the CSA telling me that my former partner had put a claim in against me, i was stunned my new partner knew about my past before we met four years ago, i asked for a DNA test simply because at the time i was told that she was sleeping with other men, so i had the test and it is confirmed that she is mine, it still does not make me feel like she is mine, now i work and so does my partner and she earns more than i do, but when she goes on maternity after 6 weeks her pay will go from 500 a week to 112 for SMP which is a big drop so with a mortgage and debts we would be struggeling anyway but now the CSA wants 60 a week from me for back dated and DNA test 38 a week for the claim 12 a week for back dated that will last a year and 10 a week for 26 weeks for the DNA test my mother decided she would help and pay the DNA test of 262 so that will drop it from 60 to 50 a week. I accept i should pay something but she has a partner that she has been with since her pregnancy of our daughter and they have two kids of there own, I am supporting another mans child but i dont mind i think of her as my daughter she is nearly 5 and i have helped raise her since 13 months old, we cannot get her father with CSA because he does not claim any benefits or supposedly work but still maneges to live and have a new cars so CSA wont do anything, another reason is if they did get him he would want to see his daughter and we are not to happy as he is an alcoholic and violent with it and would not like that sort of influence on her. My beef is this my ex I know she does not work or her partner they live in a council house payed for by the council and get benefits aswell so the CSA like to chase the fathers of children whos mother is claiming income support to get some of the money back but hang on don't i already pay tax that helps fund people that don't work so i am paying twice and supporting everyother non working parent in the country yes i know it sounds like i give millions in tax a year when i dont but thats what we are taxed for. when my new baby is born the amount i have to py will only drop by 7 a week which is not much at the most expensive time of a childs life with nappies and new clothes every couple of months and the other things that come with it. Because i have debts i can't leave my job to look after the baby when my partner who can be off work for up to 39 weeks now thanks to the government on maternity and 6 of them she gets 90% the rest is 112 a week which is not much, we run the risk of losing our home that puts a roof over two childrens head just to give money to one that is already supported through various means. I just dont know what to do and know seems to be able to help. |

Plenty of my friends have told me to go the doctors and get "sicked" off work due to depression, something i've avoided, but i've finally come round to their way of thinking...
I cannot even afford basic healthcare, dentistry, opticians, prescriptions etc, i may as well be living in a third world country...
To put it mildly, my xmas wishes for the csa is that every single one of the cunts that work for them suffers the slowest, most painful death imaginable...they,ve fucked my life, i just hope what goes around comes around. |
