The 5/5/11 referendum may have gone to the NO camp. But we shall not be beaten. That referendum was a landmark, 34 years since the UKs first ever referendum we need to continue to fight for electoral reform from FPTP to AV. 36% of people voted for the Tories in the general election and they are now the leading member of the government, yet 32% of people voted YES to AV and they are being ignored. The Lords bill proposes that 80% of the Lords be elected on a 15 year cycle using PR. How come the Tories support PR for the Lords but not for the Commons? We need to challenge this blatant hypocrisy! This petition is to be presented to the Cabinet Office, The Prime minister & Deputy Prime Minister asking for electoral reform for the house of commons and that AV is re-discussed in the house.
