Name: Stacy Tignor on Jan 15, 2008Comments: Although my son's base school is not being redistricted to South Lakes, my son attends Fox Mill School, as part of the Immersion Program. After much research, I have decided that I would much rather have my son attend South Lakes and hope to be able to people place him into South Lakes, if Fox Mill moves there. Not only so that he can continue to go to school with his current classmates, but mostly because I feel strongly about what and how the children are being taught in South Lakes.Flag

Name: Steven Muldrow on Feb 1, 2008Comments: I'm a long time resident and have children that have graduated from South Lakes HS. The opportunity to excel in many areas (academics, arts and sports)was there and they took advantage. They now attend one of the top colleges in Virginia. The administration and teachers are supremely committed to excellence.Flag

Name: Former SLHS Alum on Feb 6, 2008Comments: South Lakes, the diversity, the experience, the heritage, is undoubtedly something that you would not know about unless you went there. The misled perception is that it's a school of divide, ruled by chaos and poor kids. Well let me tell you, its the mix of race, class, and economic status that makes this school special. Its who your teachers are that makes a difference. My IB english teacher, Mr. Ward, is to this day one of the best humans I have ever had the opportunity to be taught by.Flag
