preserving what is unique about West Pymble pool's redevelopment
TO
THE HONOURABLE THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF NEW
SOUTH WALES.
The petition of certain citizens of New South Wales who
are concerned about the extent of the planned re-development of West Pymble
Pools. Your petitioners request that the House notes that the West Pymble Pools
are a unique and highly valued outdoor community asset. We request the
House further notes that the current plans
do not comply with the Ku-ring-gai Bicentennial Park Plan of Management, and
are not supported by a feasibility study. We ask that the House ensures that councils
are not judges in their own cases with regards to their own developments. Please enact legislation that ensures that
council developments are adequately scrutinised by external parties on the
basis of financial viability, environmental impact and community consultation.
