We've had many achievements in sports the past 5 years with champions in football, rowing, volleyball, slow pitch and soccer. Most students at West Park walk to school or live within a half hour walking distance of the school, keeping it open would cut down on school bus costs unlike keeping thorald open where most kids take the bus. West Park is in an area of development. There are so many reasons to keep west park open, the statistics prove it! The trustee's decision does not make sense when considering costs or the opportunities each school offers to the students.Flag

Name: Samantha Hicks on Jun 13, 2012Comments: I attended West Park from 2007-2011, making for the best four years of my life. My teachers, fellow students and the eccentric school spirit that West Park was always enthralled by provided me with memories, life lessons and, of course, academics that will be with me forever. To close any of these schools would be unfortunate, but to close West Park would be a mistake.Flag

The Western Hill area is a growing community, it would just be absurd to follow through with the the closure of West Park. If the boundaries were strict and only allowed students to go to their home school, then this problem wouldn't have occurred.Flag

Comments: West park has been like a home for the past 4 years. We may not have the largest student body but because of this i have gotten to know almost every person that goes to our school and i have met many new friends over the years. West parks lower total number of students allows people to stand out and show who they really are instead of just blending in a crowd like everybody else. If WestPark were to close it would sadden me to know that other kids in the area wouldn't be able to have that great highschool career that we all deserve.Flag
