We believe that the administration of West Memorial Jr. High School have made an arbitrary and unjust rule that has assigned seats at lunch and disallowed socializing during lunch and in the hallways as a result of the actions of 19 students. Teachers now have to carry clipboards to mark down students who they feel are not following these newly implemented rules which we feel may be taking time from their duties as teachers and not in disciplining the student who caused the problem in the first place. We believe that the administration should be making fair rules for the 19 students and not be punishing the class as a whole. Assigned seating and no socializing for these 19 students would be a just rule. We the undersigned request consideration of the restrictions on our rights be removed and request we be allowed to exercise our right to petition for reconsideration of these new rules. This petition will be presented to Mrs. Perez and Mr. Forney for their consideration and if necessary we will take our case to the Katy I.S.D administration.
