Name: Kirsten McGann on Apr 6, 2007Comments: I think adding a theatre major to Westminster's cirriculum will do a lot to attract more students. I know of a lot of high schoolers from the past few years who go to the U of U or out of state to study theatre, because Westminster dosen't have one.Flag

Name: Erica Johnson on Apr 6, 2007Comments: Our college is superior to others in the state of Utah in every way except one: the theatre department. That is not to say that its current status is sub-par; on the contrary, our plays show that Westminster students are talented and offer the very best to the community. However, few theatre classes are offered as a part of the current curriculem. Therefore, theatre enthusiasts don't receive the neccessary, comprehensive classes that could give them the competitive edge in the working world. In fact, many students choose not to attend Westminster based solely on the fact that the school has no theatre major. A theatre major would greatly benefit many publics: the faculty and staff, by way of higher enrollment and retention; the community, by way of better quality performances; and the students and parents, by way of additional classes in a creative and competitive field. Westminster needs to answer the high demand and expand the theatre department; please create a theatre major at our college!Flag
