Name: R.M.F. Preston on Apr 17, 2009Comments: This development will have an adverse effect on WK in that it will reduce the number of day trippers who will be able to benefit from the Marine Lake and promenade (because there will not be enough parking places for them). It will be bad for businesses locally because the much smaller number of hotel guests will spend less in WK than do day trippers.Flag

Name: Anonymous on May 4, 2009Comments: I am totally opposed to a hotel on the Dee Lane Car park. Recently there has not even been room to park in Morrisons car park when I have shopped there, so when Aldi and the hotel come, where will visitors park when the town is busy The hotel is not wanted by a huge number of local residents, it is out of keeping with surrounding buildings - if a hotel is to be built in West Kirby, use the Bowling Green at the end of Shrewsbury Road or Coronation Gardens instead. I realise the Council is desperate for the cash from the sale of the site, but Morrisons have offered to buy the car park site and the council refused to sell it to them. In the current recession, the likelihood of Carpenters being able to afford to build and complete the promised hotel and sailing school is remote. Look what happened to the Marine Lake contractors - we do not want a repeat of that situation where the contractors go broke halfway through the job.Flag

Name: MRS K A TANNER on Jul 19, 2009Comments: The Sail hotel plan is an unwanted development in West Kirby. The village is unable to cope with the traffic which increases during summer time and with the hotel this will only increase and cause damage to the village infrastructure as it would not be able to cope with the extra deliveries going to the hotel.Flag

Name: Rod Meldrum on Sep 19, 2009Comments: This monstrosity is almost universally unwanted by local people. It is simply a way for the controlling Labour group on Wirral Borough Council to enrich the already wealthy Mr. Beer and Mr. Brewit at the expense of the people of the Wirral and the people of West Kirby in particular.Flag
