Westchester County Executive Astorino and the Westchester Board of Legislators, We, the undersigned, support Westchester Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) and are asking for you to maintain the same level of funding for the 2012 budget as appropriated for 2011. CCE provides education and support to youth through 4-H, promotes environmentally responsible gardening and health improvement projects, tests soil and water for both residents and municipalities, delivers university-based research to the public, provides nutrition programs, encourages sustainability, sponsors residential energy conservation education and supports the billion dollar green industry that creates jobs and pays taxes in Westchester. To lose these valuable resources would be a terrible loss to the county. This petition (along with a paper petition) will be delivered to the County Executive and the Board of Legislators by October 2011.
