     We, the undersigned residents and businessowners of the Villages/Towns of Thornwood, Hawthorne, Pleasantville and Chappaqua, call upon the State of New York and the Department of Transportation to STOP the implementation and construction of its Hudson Valley Intelligent Transportation System by its planned construction of Monstrous Microwave Transmitting Camera Towers between the Taconic-Saw Mill Parkway interchange in Mount Pleasant to Roaring Brook Road in Chappaqua, along the 6.3 miles of the Saw Mill River Parkway.

     We, the above undersigned residents and businessowners, instead are calling upon our duly elected New York State officials and DOT's management to follow an alternative course of action, including but not limited to, the following:

1.) Have the State of New York and the DOT review the feasibility and necessity of the entire project plan (which, on information and belief, is over 10 years old) in light of 2012 technology (i.e, the nearly universal availability and usage to and by the populace of GPS, OnStar, "smart" phones, Blackberrys, Androids, etc.);

2.) Have the State of New York fully fund the use of fiber-optics underground system and much smaller eco-friendly towers along the length of the Saw Mill River Parkway from Mount Pleasant (Thornwood, Hawthorne and Pleasantville) to Chappaqua; and

3.) Have the State of New York and the DOT use local, short-range, connections to Verizon or Cablevision at the targeted camera locales (to be utilized only when a case can be made that vehicular traffic or flooding is an issue).
