Marijuana for the People!

The petition

This is a petition with the aim to legalize or at the bare minimum decriminalize marijuana in Canada. It is about time the federal government stopped treating weed like they did in the 1970s and focus on much more serious crimes affecting Canadians then the simple possesion of pot. It is scientifically proven that there are more good benifits to smoking cannabis then there are bad. It is proven that marijuana helps with the treatment of cancer, HIV, aids, and many other diseases that affect canadians. It is also proven to be less harmful then alcohol and tobacco, both which are legal substances in Canada. There are also many more economic reasons to deciminalize hemp because we can use it to make things instead of trees. Trees take 20 years to grow back wheras hemp takes only a matter of months. Hemp also only takes up 1/4 the space of trees. The government could also sell it to the public, regulating it like they do alcohol and tobacco.
