Name: Diana Lopez on Mar 11, 2012Comments: To whom it may concern, Please reconsider making the changes that are being proposed. As you already know, this school has made it to its #1 status by those who are currently attending it, and many of us have contributed our time and money to make it what it is. It is truly unfair for this to be taken away from us after we worked so hard to get the school to where it is and keep it there. Please don't take away from us what WE as a community of interdistrict parents and students have worked so hard to build and/or maintain, it is just not fair. Thank you.Flag

Name: Denise Henry on Mar 11, 2012Comments: I spend COUNTLESS hours at Weaver to help the teachers and staffr as well as donate when asked. I made sure to ask when I enrolled my daughter if my son would be able to attend Weaver and was told "Yes" as long as my home school let us out. We are the parents and children that have helped make WEAVER what it is!!Flag

Name: Scott Gill on Mar 13, 2012Comments: This is a complete outrage! The Weaver families were promised that all siblings were guaranteed a spot. And now they are trying to go back on a promise because more local residents want to send their children to Weaver because of it's accomplishments. That is large to do with out of the area families. I have been a local resident of the district for 10 years and I am embarressed of the lack of integrity and disrespect of the Los Alamitos School District.Flag

IT IS ABSOLUTELY UNFAIR TO CHANGE THE RULES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME FOR THESE FAMILIES. FROM HERE ON THE RULEES CAN APPLY AS PROPOSED FOR NEW STUDENTS.Flag

Name: Tarrah Lawrence on Mar 13, 2012Comments: Please let Weaver keep the promise that they made when we enrolled our older children into the school. Siblings of children currently attending Weaver should get priority. We enrolled our children with the understanding and reassurance that their siblings would get priority when the time came. It is not fair to split up siblings, nor is it the right thing to do because it would create a hardship for so many families. I completely understand why local residents want their children to attend Weaver. It is an OUTSTANDING school. However, it took ALL of us, including interdistrict transfer students and their parents, to make Weaver what it is today. You will be taking away from the families that put in so much time, effort, and donations to help make Weaver what it is today. This change will effect so many families in a negative way. If the policy must change, families should be given plenty of notice and it should not effect the families who have children currently attending Weaver. The new policy should only be implemented after all students currently attending weaver and their siblings get priority. It would make more sense to implement the new policy for kindergarteners entering Weaver for the upcomiong school year, rather than current students already attend Weaver. Please don't let this effect the families already attending Weaver. Weaver is our school too.Flag
