Comments: This is completely unfair to not only my younger children but to my child who currently attends Weaver!

Comments: I have twins coming into Weaver next year. The last two years we have dedicated our time and money into Weaver, with the understanding that when the time came sibblings would be given priority. The proposed measure is creating stress and uncertainty for our family, since it may not be possible for sibblings to attend the same school. When we enrolled our daughter in Weaver we had to wait for sibblings to be enrollend and then enter an out of district lottery. The wait was long but worth it since our two younger children would not have to go through the same process again. As a parent I am extremely concerned as this proposed measure is unfair to the families currently attending and supporting Weaver.

Comments: This new measure would be unfair to families currently attending Weaver. Should this new measure be implemented, it would require families to break up their siblings into different schools or require families to pull their children out of Weaver so that families can attend the same school. As both of these results are extremely undesireable, I am opposed to the proposed unfair measure to existing families attending Weaver.

Comments: I do not agree of this putting the siblings up in the Lottery. I would like to say that if our younger child does not get in due to this our older child will be pulled and moved to the school our younger child would be in. This forces parents to make 2 trips to two different schools. We chose Weaver due to the excellence that was offered as well as the fact that if we were allowed in with siblings having priority. I encourage you to reconcider the thought process on this before you make this the law for the school.

Comments: If Weaver is not able to allow ALL my children attend, I will not stay in the Los Al school district. Please understand, I have only transferred my children to your district so that I can attend Weaver. Giving me the option of a different Los Al school, will not be an option for my family.

Comments: My second child will be entering in Weaver Elementary School this year. This would be devastating for my family if she would not be able to go to Weaver. The main reason I chose Weaver was the priority list for siblings. I would not be able to work out the logistics for my children to go to separate schools. The time frame alone would be impossible. Also Weaver is a year round school and the other schools are traditional. That would mean my children would be off separate times of the year. Clearly, that would be a problem for vacations and child care. It would be a great disappointment for my eldest daughter to leave Weaver…she loves Weaver! I would like the same experience for my 2nd child. I have built my life around the Weaver schedule. One of the reasons I chose my babysitter was her ability to help drive my children to and from school. They have been with her for three years. I have selected the piano teacher and ballet studio with a consideration for their distance to Weaver and my work and the babysitter. When I made the decision to go to Weaver 3 years ago, I was also considering other schools and I committed to Weaver because of Weavers commitment to my family with the understanding that when the time came siblings would be given priority. Is this an act of bad faith on the part of the Board? I have invested my family’s time’ emotions and money to Weaver …we have made Weaver a huge part of our lives…there isn’t a day that goes by that Weaver has not been brought up in our family in some way, shape or form. This is a second home for my oldest daughter and it should be for my second child as well. We are committed to Weaver, it’s our school and it should be my second child’s school as well.

Comments: I will admit that I was nervous about transferring out-of-district to have my kids attend Weaver, fearful that something just like this would arise. But Weaver has so much to offer! And I was reassured that, once admitted, not only would my twins be able to continue through until graduation, but their younger sister would be given priority as their sibling. So we have made Weaver a part of our family, the kids have made friends, joined Scouting, enjoyed learning with their teachers and participated in fundraising and after-school events. My husband and I have volunteered and donated money. In other words, we have banked on the school's reassurances to us that our family would be given priority in future years, so that 1) our family can stay together in school, 2) we can reap the benefits of the work we've put into THIS school, and 3) our kids can benefit from the stability of staying in one school, with their group of friends and in the scouts and local after-school activities they have joined. However, now I am being told that our family is no longer a priority to Weaver. And while I respect the residents' position, I believe that the people that have helped build Weaver....and were given a promise for their younger children to have a place in Weaver....should continue to be given priority - regardless of where they live. Please reconsider and make the families that have helped to make Weaver #1 a top priority again.

Comments: We came to Weaver in a mutually rewarding situation. They needed to fill a seat, and we wanted our children to attend. At the time, we were told that our younger children would also get priority admission, and that calmed our worries about breaking up the family. Now that Weaver has achieved such high ranking - as measured by the testing of ALL the students, including the transfers - the out-of-district families are being told they are no longer priority, and the assurances will not be honored. If policies must change, then so be it (and in writing, please!). But, please have the honor to respect your previous policy and grandfather in those siblings that already have families in Weaver. We've helped to build Weaver to what it is today just as much as Weaver has helped to make our kids what they are today.

Comments: THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!!! AT LEAST LET THE FAMILIES THAT ALREADY GIVEN THE PROMISE THAT ALL THEIR KIDS WILL BE PRIORITY GO TO WEAVER!!!! YOU CAN'T JUST SAY ONE THING ONE DAY AND CHANGE IT TO SOMETHING SO DRASTIC THE NEXT!!! THINK ABOUT THIS!!! DON'T RUIN THESE CHILDREN'S EDUCATION!!! DON'T SEPARATE THE FAMILIES!!!
