24 Marybeth McBryanThe hierarchical leadership of the Roman Catholic Church in our beloved St. Louis Archdiocese has been acting in an unconscionable manner for the last two Archbishops, namely, Justin Rigali and Raymond Burke. By the ordination of Roman Catholic Women Priests and the forward thinking of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Board of Directors in recruiting the Reverend Marek Bozek to lead their church (which had been stripped of their Roman Catholic status as well as all vestments and accoutrements and their PRIEST), many Catholics are refusing to be led like lambs to the slaughter. We are independent thinkers, intelligent, and inclusive in our vision of "Church." We are living out the Church as we were taught by Jesus Christ. How can our leadership have forgotten who we are and carrying out the principles of the Gospel? Is it only social justice for the laity? I pray daily for the pastoral leadersip of a truly just church here in St. Louis and for the revocation of all interdicts currently in place and for all future vengeful acts toward any clergy and laity. Amen
