PROPOSED BOUNDARY CHANGES AT MCKEE IN SEP 2012

As per the new proposed boundary changes 124 existing students at McKee PS will be kicked out of the school out of which 115 are impacted as early as Sep 2012. Increasing enrolment at McKee PS is a known problem, but the solution cannot be to heartlessly ask 124 children to leave the school.

The children impacted are from the age group 4-8 years old. These children are devastated that the school that they are going to right now, their own teachers, their own principal are telling them that in the new session in September, they will no longer be able to come to the school that they now lovingly call as "Their School".

Many parents have invested in this area and paid premiums to ensure that their children could go to McKee PS. This decision has come as a shock and has left the parents feeling frustrated and helpless. This will have a huge emotional and financial impact on the families.

IF YOU CARE THEN HAVE A HEART AND SUPPORT GRANDFATHERING!!!

1) Overcrowding at McKee is largely caused due to false addresses and the large influx of families from the Yonge and Sheppard corridor (issues known to the school and the trustee and TDSB). Before asking 124 children to leave the school there should be a diligent check on the addresses each school year instead of only at the time of enrollment.

2) No child should be forced to change schools => Children already enrolled at McKee should be "grandfathered" at the parent's request so that they can complete their years at McKee.

3) Families will not have to send children to different schools => A younger sibling should be able to attend McKee when there is an older sibling still attending the same school.

4) New enrolments based on approved proposed changes.

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION AND SUPPORT THE CHILDREN AND THE AFFECTED FAMILIES.
