Here is the prior staff stats over the past 6 years.

Ely had the best year in the school's history last year. Ely high boys' basketball team has received Compliments upon compliments on their behavior, manners and character at every placed they have traveled and stayed. Coach Randall and the head JV coach are the only coaches who actually get paid for coaching (very small amount).The four other members of the coaching staff does not receive any compensation for their time and effort . The coaching staff are not only coaches, they are fathers, brothers, friends or whatever is needed to help these young boys develop into young men. The boys basketball team is ready to defend their 2012 state title and become the 1st team at Ely to win back to back State Championships.Coach Randall is committed and dedicated to continue success,progress and development for these young men but can't do that without the ability to choose his staff.At this time no coaches have been hired for any basketball position. Coach Randall has informed the administration that he will not return as head coach without being able to choose his own coaching staff. This is the first time in Ely High School history that administration has told a coach he is not given the opportunity or allowed to pick his own staff. This is not happening at other schools in the county, and I can say at on any level(middle,high, college or pro). Again all of this after having the best year in the school's history. Why? Coach Randall and his player need your support.

Please sign this petition to show your support the the community, players, parents, and fans want Randall to be able to choose his coaching staff. Let your voice be heard and become involved, call North Area School Board (754-321-4000) or Robert Runcie, Broward's Superintendent (754-321-2600) and demand to have a community meeting at Ely High Gymnasium with the administration, coaching staff, parents, community and all other parties involved to resolve this issue and any building tension. The individuals who are truly losing are the players (student/athletes) in all of this.
