Name: Chris Roll on Feb 13, 2013Comments: Workplace discrimination is wrong. Judge the man for his talent, not his personal beliefs. Orson Scott Card will write one heck of a Superman story, and I'm buying it when it sees print. Why? Because I like good stories, not because I want to make a political statement. Although, granted, I suppose I'm making one now.Flag

Name: James on Feb 13, 2013Comments: It is amazing that people are trying to kill free speech when it doesn't agree with their point of view. Everyone has a right to their personal opinion whether it is politically correct or not. And seeing as how the man is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this could be placed under the category of religious belief which is protected by Federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Laws.Flag

Name: Kill All Faggots on Feb 14, 2013Comments: Thank God DC had the courage to finally hire a writer that once attempted to link child molestation to homosexuality and advocated the overthrow of the government over the issue of gay rights. It's heart warming to see people rally this vehemently to the aid of a man whose religion has been forces to awkwardly back peddal on the origins of native Americans and blacks under the banner of Superman. If there's one thing (an entirely fictional person by the way) like Superman has always defended it's been discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation.Flag

Name: Carl Manning on Feb 15, 2013Comments: I'm not a Superman fan, and I'm indifferent to gay marriage, but I think the hoopla over Card's hiring is absolutely appalling. The number of liberal writers in the comic book industry, and I never hear a peep about one of them jamming their views in their books, but guys like Dixon and now Card are eagerly run out of the business on a rail before they even put one word to the printed page. Have a spine, DC, and let the market decide if Card's detractors affect sales enough to warrant his dismissal on the title. Outright firing him over his personal beliefs, though, would be the height of hypocrisy given the blatant left-wing bias that's present in this industry today.Flag
