We support Orson Scott Card's Superman comic!

667 Signatures Goal: 5,000

We the undersigned, proud to call ourselves Superman fans, would like to voice our support of DC Comics' decision to hire Orson Scott Card to write a story for the Adventures of Superman comic.

Card has been the subject of a number of attacks by those who want him to think like them, and are trying to force DC to fire Card simply for standing up for what he believes. Superman stands for truth, justice, and the American Way. Superman would stand up for Card's right to free thought and free speech, even when it isn't popular. We think DC Comics should do the same.

One of the petition signers, Ken Marshall, provided the following quote, which is very fitting: "Be not intimidated, therefore, by any terrors, from publishing with the utmost freedom whatever can be warranted by the laws of your country; nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberty by any pretenses of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery, and cowardice. " - John Adams

PLEASE NOTE: After signing, iPetitions asks for a donation. It is optional and not required. This is not our doing, and we do not receive any money for this. The donation simply underwrites the iPetition site.

I'm against bigotry, but I'm also against bullies. Trying to get someone penalized for expressing a contrary opinion is a hypocritical tactic for so-called proponents of tolerance.

I support DC's choice in hiring Orson Scott Card and Superman Adventures. I support Card. He is a great author. Like him l am anti-LGBTQ. These communities always complained that they didn't have rights and discrimination and blah blah blah. But now the laws favour them and they got marriage which they alway wanted and much more tolerance, but that just isn't enough for them. No now they want to force their way of life on others. They want to tell us what we can think and what we cant think concerning them. They will go to absolute measures to make sorry force people to just like them or think wonders of them. They are such hypocrites! What they want is the whole government with them. And it is moving toward that direction. I agree with Card 10000000000000000000%
Besides Card's and my beliefs they have no right to push their agenda on people who disagree with them. They are doing the same thing that the minority dictators do when ruling a country.

Americans! Stand up for the right to have and express an opinion. Resist the bullies who try to stifle free speech and thought. Isn't it interesting that those who have preached tolerance now prove to be intolerant themselves.
