   Comments: I opposed the unilateral decisioin by the MDHA to separate from the RMHA for the Rep B hockey program. Such a decision,Board without consultation with the membership. Disrespectful to do so in secret.

   Comments: I oppose the decision made by MDHA to separate from the RMHA to run the River Rats Rep B hockey program. I find it offending that the MDHA made such decision, on behalf of my son, not only without a consultative process, but in secret. If something has to be done in secret, it's because the MDHA had to know that this was not going to be a popular decision

   Comments: This is a decision that came about as the result of backroom politics. Adding a major novice rep B prompted an MDHA wide email, isn't this more important. Backhanded and sneaky and with no valid reasons except to disrupt a bunch of children who want and enjoy playing hockey together

   Comments: I did not make a RiverRats team this year but have been on the current Minor bantam for 3 years. I am still a part of this group as a affliiate and I don't know why a few adults can make a decision that affects an entire group of players without even asking us what we want. I think we are all pretty happy with the way it is.

   Comments: I play on the Minor PeeWee team. In the last coupl of years this team hasn't done too well but had fun right now we are winning and having fun together. Why do the Metcalfe committee not want us to play with them anymore. I think we help the teams. I have played with Metcalfe players since minor atom, they are my friends

    Comments: As a parent of River Rat players for almost ten years, I am totally opposed to the decision taken by the MDHA Board and consider it invalid as there was no consulative process to respect the many stakeholders involved. I do not believe that this is in the best interest of our kids. As Treasurer of the RMHA, I am commited to supporting Rep B hockey. I would like the opportunity to be part of the solution. I am deeply grateful to the many, many volunteers who support hockey in our communities. Let's respect them by letting them particpiate in any major changes to be made.

    Comments: My son currently plays Major midget with the riverrats. He is from the Greely area. Except for 2 years when he played rangers he played with the river rats since atom. There were many years when they just had enough players from the two associations to ice a team and some years had to take cuts from nepean. It is short sighted to remove russell from the mix when the numbers trying out at that level doesn't warrant it. I think the arrogant and ignorant decision to go at it alone should be reconsidered.

    Comments: Decisions with such an impact as this on 2 communities should have been made with the input of the parents, players, volunteers and the River Rat Committee. These are the people who have built , maintained and made definite improvements in the River Rat Program.

    Comments: Unless MDHA provides facts that support a reason for this split, I can't support the decision to split given the close proximity and long history between Metcalfe and Russell. Furthermore, I'm not sure why Rep B would want to pick from a smaller group of kids.

    Comments: Regarding comment #83, the minor bantam RR have received 36.5 hrs of practice ice time as of Jan 27. The current RR agreement requires that RR teams are given 40 hrs of practice ice for the entire regular season.

    Comments: In accordance with the MDHA associations governing constitution and regulations the executive shall have it made known to the membership the content of new or amended Regulations, by posting on the MDHA website and through email to it`s membership. I firmly believe had this been done followed by a general meeting for open discussion concerning the proposal, this whole situation could have been avoided. In every decision the risk and impact to the organizations and the community it serves needs to be considered.

    Comments: As a player, I do not support the current MDHA decision. We will end up with weak teams which will lead to frustration and players eventually requesting transfers or quitting. Hockey is for the players, not for the parents or the Executive. Decisions need to be made for the players best interests and I do not believe that this decision is for our benefit at all.

    Comments: I would like the MDHA Executive to have a town hall meeting, similiar to Russell, to discuss the rationale behind the decision and provide the membership, and those families impacted, full disclosure. At this point because I have limited information I do not find myself in the position to fully support the decision. I would like to know what steps were taken to research the decision (impacts on players, feasibility of administering the program), what attempts were taken to resolve any concerns with the RHMA and the RRA Committee, and who (which members) were involved in this process. As one of the few members who attended the AGM, I do not recall this item being discussed or suggested. I think that would be the venue for such an important decision to be discussed and highlighted as a plan going forward for the MDHA.
