We demand that only MP's representing English Constituencies be allowed to vote on legislation that only effects England.

Following the Scottish independence referendum, the question of how we should govern each country in the United Kingdom has become extremely important. If devolution, including the setting of income tax, is given to Scotland or Wales or Northern Ireland, surely England deserves the same. At the moment English MP's have no say over devolved matters in Wales or Scotland or Northern Ireland and nor should they. Scottish and Welsh and Northern Irish MPs do however have a say on legislation which only impacts on England. It is time this stopped.

If faith in democracy in England is to mean anything we have got to ensure that only English MP's vote on matters that only impact on England. Perhaps we need an English parliament, perhaps regional reform. Those are matters where the public view needs to be heard. What we do need, and can do now is to ensure that those politicians who represent England are the only ones who make the laws for England.

Yours sincerely,

Richard Clewer
