I couldn't find anything like this online. I have heard a lot of talk about it on both sides, so I thought I would start a petition to see if anyone agrees with me. My inspiration is the rhetoric from the Opie and Anthony Show on Sirius XM. The increase in the payroll tax for Social Security that was snuck through during the "Fiscal Cliff" fiasco put things into perspective that the administration is looking to increase taxes on all levels whereever they can find room. We all pay Local, State, and Federal Taxes out of our wages. We then use what's left over to purchase things, which in turn incurs a sales tax. If we choose to save some of our already taxed money and invest it, any money we earn from investing is taxed, but we do not get a break on our taxes when money is invested and lost. Lastly when we die any money we were able to hold onto and pass to our children is taxed again out of our estates. It is a wonder anyone has anything left. Please sign this petition if you think the Federal and State Governments are taxing all of the American people enough. Instead of raising taxes, the lawmakers who are supposed to be representing us should start using the money we already pay more responsibly, eliminate redundancies in government agencies, identify and eliminate overcharging government contracts, run government institutions more efficiently, and stop taxing the American public on money that has already been taxed multiple times. It is not an easy solution, but to quote a famous comedian: "You never can tell, it might just work; it certainly hasn't been tried yet."
